SEQRWSS is a group comprising the State Government and Queensland mayors.

It contains some very interesting information when you consider the government's desperate push for dams.

Page 3 confirms our view that the dam yield figures are based on 100 year averages, which makes them not relevant because of climate change, and that historical no fail yields are incorrect as well.  That means that dams aren't the solution they are being claimed to be.

Page 3 also has Tad Bagdon, Manager, Sustainable Water Systems in the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency, highlighted the viability of using recycled water as a bulk source of potable water supply in south east Queensland. He emphasised the ease with which advanced water recycling technologies could deliver a safe and reliable supply of drinkable water. Tad explained that indirect water recycling could supply potable water more economically than many other alternative water supply options.

That means our claims there are real and sustainable alternatives is valid.

Page 7 confirmed the "dam myths" being perpetuated by the State Government are just that.

What is happening now is preliminary investigation.  Preliminary investigation must prove feasibility. Environmental Impact Studies and other legislative requirements will need to be done. The proposed dams will only be built if they pass these hurdles and approvals are obtained. It will be several years before construction could begin.

This means the government is "scaremongering" amongst dam site residents.

IT ALSO MEANS WE CAN WIN.  THE FACT THAT THIS INFORMATION IS GETTING OUT MAY BE WHY BEATTIE IS THREATENING TO TAKE OVER WATER ENTIRELY AND REMOVE THE INPUT FROM LOCAL GOVERNMENTS.
